Position: Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector for a long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial construction, particularly in piping and steel.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive quality documentation as mandated by the quality management framework and periodically review records for accuracy.
- Support the Construction Manager in overseeing quality documentation related to material traceability.
- Coordinate material inspections with suppliers and contractors' quality control personnel.
- Assist in the inspection and testing processes alongside the construction team and supply partners.
- Identify and report any non-conformities to the project team and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and inspect ongoing site activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Quality Manager in the management of non-conformance reports, punch lists, and observations.
- Request necessary follow-ups and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Communicate quality control findings and non-conformities to the project team.
- Work with the project team and suppliers to implement quality control measures and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee documentation and management of project-specific processes.
- Ensure effective management and control of Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment (IMTE).
- Review material submissions from suppliers for compliance with specifications and client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Journeyman Mechanical license.
- Required: Associate degree in Mechanical Construction Technology or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mechanical construction and at least 1 year as a Mechanical Inspector on large-scale projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret wiring and electrical designs using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and Quality Control Procedures.
- Knowledge of work/material inspection processes and documentation.
- Experience in reviewing material submissions and inspection drawings.
- Understanding of local inspection processes.
- Knowledge of various construction methods and materials.
