About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Psychologist to serve as an Assistant Chief in our Behavioral Health department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our staff, as well as overseeing the development and implementation of programs and services that support the mental health and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical consultation to various disciplines and levels of training
  • Oversee, develop, coordinate, and evaluate academic programs within Behavioral Health
  • Serve as a member of key EPVAHCS managerial bodies
  • Serve on VISN 17 committees representing Behavioral Health and EPVAHCS community
  • Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized
  • Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Authorized
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy
  • Education: Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
  • Licensure: Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of administrative/supervisory experience in managing a behavioral health service that consists of multi-disciplinary staff
  • Demonstrated experience with disciplinary actions
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with privileges at an outpatient clinic or hospital
