Litigation Attorney Professional

Downs & Stanford, P.C. is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Sugar Land, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of civil defense litigation experience and be able to manage multiple cases with varying levels of complexity.
We offer a competitive salary, with estimated compensation ranging from $120,000 to over $200,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, paid vacation and sick/personal days based on tenure, and a 401(k) plan.
Key Responsibilities- Assess case liability, loss, and damages
- Manage client reporting, billing, budgeting, and case management requirements
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, networking, and business development skills
- Draft and respond to discovery
- Conduct depositions
- Develop exceptional research, writing, and briefing skills
- Stay knowledgeable of federal, state, and local rules
- Meet or exceed monthly billable hour goals
- Occasional travel may be required
- High degree of commitment, honesty, and integrity
- Licensed to practice in the State of Texas
- Minimum of 3-5 years of civil defense litigation experience
- Able to work collaboratively or independently
- Critical thinking that displays initiative and adaptability
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and hard-working
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office 2010-2016
- Familiarity with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome web browsers, as well as related productivity applications
