Role Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineering Specialist will engage in designing various sizes of positioners and antenna systems in accordance with customer specifications. This role encompasses conducting mechanical evaluations of the systems under development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts mechanical and dimensional assessments of designed systems.
  • Focuses on the design of rotating mechanisms and the integration of electro-mechanical, electrical, and microwave components.
  • Documents the design, detailing, and manufacturing processes of final products.
  • Communicates mechanical design progress and status updates to management and clients.
  • Responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of moving and rotating machine components, alongside traditional structural analysis and FEA analysis.
  • Oversees project progression from initial concept through design, detailing fabrication, and assembly drawings to manufacturing and final assembly.
  • Assists in drafting proposals for antenna procurements in line with customer specifications, providing analytical support and presenting findings during customer reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks/PDM.
  • Expertise in ASME Y14.5M-1994 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Eligibility for future Security Clearance is essential for this position. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for security clearance eligibility.

Preferred Skills:

  • Capability to analyze mechanical structures, gear trains, bearings, and composite materials.
  • Experience in guiding projects from concept through design, detailing, and manufacturing of final products.
  • Experience in proposal writing aligned with customer specifications.
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as ANSYS Mechanical, SolidWorks Flow, and SolidWorks Simulation.
  • CAD proficiency in Creo and AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% may be required.

In compliance with pay transparency regulations, the salary range for this position in California is $97,500 - $181,500. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, as the final offer may vary based on factors such as experience and geographic location. Fisica, Inc. provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. Specific programs and options may vary based on the date of hire and schedule type.


9/80 Work Schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off.
