Job Title: Pathway Dean

Job Summary:

The Pathway Dean will provide academic leadership and oversight for designated programs and disciplines within the Social Sciences Career Pathway. This role will ensure consistency, currency, and excellence across all locations where assigned programs and disciplines are offered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement curricula, courses, and programs that meet the needs of the constituencies served by the college.
  • Provide leadership and communication on academic standards, goals, and definitions of learning outcomes and teaching requirements.
  • Oversee the evaluation of programs and courses for currency, relevancy, and effectiveness.
  • Recruit, select, and develop teaching faculty and staff in accordance with college procedures.
  • Ensure academic policies are applied appropriately and refer students to support services as needed.
  • Develop and manage the academic delivery of instruction, including class schedule development and faculty assignments.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and supplies needed for operations.
  • Prepare fiscally sound budget proposals and monitor expenditures.
  • Establish and build relationships with employers, community agencies, and educational institutions to foster job placements and improve curricula.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree required, preferably in a field related to one of the programs and disciplines in the assigned Career Pathway.
  • Formal collegiate teaching experience required, with community college experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in an academic setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive mission of community colleges.
