About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Aid at the Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, as well as cleaning wards, patient rooms, and other areas.
  • Empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds, wash walls, windows, and ceilings, and refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers.
  • Move furniture and equipment as needed, and assist with the installation of light bulbs in halls and rooms.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using a variety of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
