Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Oncology System Administrator to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will be responsible for managing the operations of our RO specific systems, ensuring they meet the clinical needs of our RO departments workflow and treatment processes. You will work closely with our clinical teams to evaluate, deploy, manage, and enhance our clinical RO information systems used for clinical and operational purposes. Additionally, you will collaborate with our Chief Physicists and Physics team to evaluate new systems and functionality, including hardware and infrastructure requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage server infrastructure and integrity of designated applications, troubleshoot and maintain RO clinical and QA systems, including ARIA, Eclipse, Brainlab, MIM, and Sun Nuclear products.
  • Develop data and system security protocols for RO systems, including access, system patches, anti-virus, and PHI/PII to comply with KP and regulatory standards.
  • Assess, plan, and implement system changes for local and system-wide software and hardware upgrades, regional initiatives, and technological advancements.
  • Manage and maintain RO system interfaces, including troubleshooting DICOM and HL7 issues, regression testing, and error log management.
  • Responsible for system backups and archiving of local RO systems, including maintenance and periodic testing of Disaster Recovery Plans associated with network and data storage.
  • Provide training for local physicians, technologists, and other staff related to RO systems implementations.
  • Participate in regional planning and operations support processes, including conducting or participating in studies to determine technical solutions for business requirements, and participating in hardware and software evaluation efforts related to purchase or utilization of new hardware or software systems.
  • Perform local audits, gather statistics, and prepare reports for management and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with KP-IT, local PACS System Administrators, and Biomedical Engineering in the installation planning and execution of IT and PACS related local projects.
  • Monitor and maintain an up-to-date inventory of network addresses, clinical system configurations, and software versions for all RO systems.
  • Assist other RO Systems Administrators in troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software related problems or issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in implementation, troubleshooting, and conducting training of radiation oncology systems, imaging systems, informatics, or information system management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics Technology, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Strong information technology and computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience in developing technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to records retention, confidentiality, and the release of medical records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with managing complex projects involving a large number of stakeholders.
  • Analytics skills with experience in SAS or equivalent tool and Tableau.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience with API, C++, or other programming languages.
  • Experience in web management platforms or applications.
  • Certification through CompTIA or equivalent.
  • Certification through Microsoft, Citrix, or equivalent.
  • One (1) year healthcare experience preferred.
