Job Purpose:The Design Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing of Bliss products to meet customer needs, expectations, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs, with a focus on 3D design, preferably using SolidWorks and/or Inventor.
- Convert 2D hand drawings to 3D models and prints, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Review customer designs, contract requirements, and specifications to ensure compliance with engineering principles and company standards.
- Interface with customers and company representatives to certify products meet customer satisfaction and expectations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered to specifications.
- Provide production support to the fabrication, machining, test lab, and assembly areas.
- Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Background or experience with welding fabrication, machining, and product design.
- Familiarity with 3D design, SolidWorks, and/or Inventor is preferred.
The Design Engineer will primarily work in an office environment and fabrication shop, with occasional travel to sites that may not be wheelchair accessible. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to moderate.
Mental and Physical Demands:- Clear and conceptual thinking ability, excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion.
- Ability to handle work-related stress, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Visual acuity to read and draft reports, memos, letters, etc.
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly.
