Overview

Under the general oversight of the Jury Manager, this role is tasked with directing the operations and personnel of the Jury Services division, specifically focusing on juror assignments to various courts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume leadership in the absence of the Jury Manager, overseeing departmental authority and operations.
  • Supervise a team comprising approximately three full-time staff members and one part-time employee.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review reports, schedules, statistical data, budgetary information, and jury summons orders.
  • Engage with court officials, judges, attorneys, and the public on complex jury-related matters.
  • Guide staff on procedural compliance, jury laws, payroll, and public relations.
  • Conduct interviews, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Coordinate jury panel assignments for multiple courts, administer juror oaths, and assess jurors' eligibility to serve.
  • Process and assign jurors daily, ensuring accurate updates to jury summons and departmental documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.

Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions in line with established policies and procedures.

Strong organizational skills with the capacity to plan and delegate tasks effectively.

Proficiency in computer applications, including standard word processing and data management software.

Ability to foster and maintain productive working relationships with county employees, officials, and the public.

Physical requirements may include prolonged periods of sitting and standing, as well as moderate lifting of materials.
