Position Overview
The selected individual will be a vital contributor to a multi-contractor team, providing programmatic, engineering, and technical assistance to Missile Defense initiatives. The role requires expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the ability to address various systems engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing use cases and systems engineering documents to implement requested capabilities.
- Assisting in the creation and evaluation of interface documents, system requirements, and architectural documentation.
- Mentoring junior systems engineering personnel to enhance their professional skills.
- Collaborating with technical leads and product owners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Following established DOORS processes and procedures.
- Reviewing technical product details and content.
- Acting as a technical liaison with MDA counterparts as needed.
- Participating in Agile development efforts, including planning and status updates.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 14 years of progressively responsible experience in Systems Engineering, or a Master's degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience with complex command and control systems, mission and performance analysis, and requirements management.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing models for complex systems, particularly using DoDAF and SysML methodologies.
- Experience in creating logical and physical models that illustrate system behavior and interactions.
- Ability to transition projects into a Model-Based Systems Engineering framework.
- Familiarity with tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, and DOORS for managing product baselines.
- Capability to communicate system-level use cases and their relationships to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in generating specifications to document system capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret high-level needs and relate them to requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical findings effectively.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with Agile methodologies and defining Epics and Features.
- Knowledge of logical architecture modeling and cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and network design.
