Job Summary

The OPTIONS Lead Recovery Coach plays a crucial role in helping individuals in need connect with essential substance use and harm reduction services. This position requires collaboration with OPTIONS Liaisons to provide Coachervision (supervision) to a team of recovery coaches.

The Lead Recovery Coach is responsible for working in a community to provide short- and long-term recovery coaching services using a harm reduction approach and fidelity to the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) model. This position involves supervising individuals across the state and may be based out of the Saco, Brunswick, or Belfast offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Coachervision supervision to the team of recovery coaches.
  • Offer administrative support to the team as assigned, including ordering outreach supplies and approving payroll.
  • Develop genuine relationships with recoverees, as well as with colleagues and community partners.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, community partners, and emergency medical services.
  • Embrace evidenced-based practices, harm reduction, motivation interviewing, and the many pathways to recovery.
  • Provide short-term intervention with a focus on harm reduction.
  • Link individuals in need with HQHC providers, harm reduction sites, naloxone resources, recovery community centers, withdrawal management, inpatient treatment, housing referrals, and other necessary resources.
  • Support individuals in applying for applicable benefits, including MaineCare, non-emergency transportation resources, housing, and food security services.
  • Utilize supervisory supports appropriately and participate in all team/program meetings.
  • Help individuals create their own recovery plans and develop their own recovery pathways.
  • Meet independently with participants to determine their needs and barriers to recovery.
  • Earn Maine Recovery Coachervision Certification within 60 days of hire and maintain this and Recovery Coach certification throughout tenure in the position.
  • Ensure the Human Rights of clients in the program are respected and protected.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner in compliance with contractual, legal, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all participant records and privileged consumer information are kept strictly confidential in conformity with state and federal law and regulations.
  • Provide outreach to persons experiencing street and sheltered homelessness to provide harm reduction, hygiene, and safety supplies.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience working as a Recovery Coach preferred.
  • CCR Coachervision training preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • CCAR Recovery Coach Certification Required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
