Job Title: Rodman

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Rodman to join our team at Hensel Phelps. As a Rodman, you will assist the field engineer and project superintendent in various field duties, including staking out and elevating survey points, maintaining equipment, and performing data collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the field engineer and project superintendent in staking out and elevating survey points.
  • Maintain surveying equipment in good working order and notify the appropriate staff member when equipment needs repair or replacement.
  • Measure distances between points using tape or electronic equipment.
  • Search for section corners, property irons, and survey points.
  • Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to determine elevations of different points.
  • Place the rod vertically in place to ensure a correct starting point for measurements.
  • Lay out stakes to prepare for horizontal and vertical survey measurements.
  • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-5 years' experience in construction, warehouse, survey, or general labor.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work with a team to perform boundary and topographical surveying.
  • Knowledge of surveying and electronic distance measuring devices.
  • Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 10 Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification, experience working in construction and/or industrial environments.
