Job Overview

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Education Specialist - Student Support and Development to join our team.

About the Role

This full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, involves providing comprehensive support to students across K-12th grade as an itinerant specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and developmental levels.
  • Interpret assessment results to inform instructional planning, intervention strategies, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals to develop effective interventions and behavior management strategies.
  • Provide counseling and support services to students individually or in group settings, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Consult with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to foster partnerships and support students' well-being and academic success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including 504 meetings and IEP meetings, contributing expertise to address students' needs and goal-setting.
  • Stay current with research, best practices, and legal requirements related to school psychology and special education.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • A valid license or certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Proficiency in conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting assessment results.
  • A strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of various behavioral intervention strategies and positive behavior support systems.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
