Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Project Manager to join our Airfield Lighting team in Orlando, Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full scope of work from proposal preparation to construction, overseeing all technical aspects of airport Airfield Lighting projects, and coordinating engineers and sub-consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the design and implementation of airport Runway and Taxiway lighting systems, Approach Lighting, NAVAIDS, Weather Reporting Aids, High Mast Apron Lighting, and Airfield Lighting Vault projects.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of design efforts, and prepare complete project documentation, including plans, specifications, and engineer estimates.
  • Work on multiple projects of moderate to large size, using time efficiently to stay within budget and timely delivery.
  • Develop proposals, including bid documents, project reports, studies, and other documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with other internal departments and disciplines participating in the project.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with firm and contract requirements and support overall project schedule, scope, and budget.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering project management.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Strong understanding of Federal/State funding and approval process.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect privileged client information and documents appropriately.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid drivers' license and maintenance of satisfactory driving record.
  • Professional Engineer licensure with ability to obtain Florida licensure within six (6) months.
  • Ability to become licensed in multiple states.
Work Environment

The work environment is typically clean, pleasant, and comfortable, with occasional site visits in an outdoor environment. Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and frequently required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
