Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Evening Facilities Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within designated areas, including hallways, restrooms, gyms, and other school facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The attendant will assist in logistical support for school events, including the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment, as well as the transportation of materials and supplies. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the exterior grounds, including athletic fields, parking areas, and playgrounds.

Responsibilities also encompass snow and ice removal, lawn care, and preparation of athletic fields for events. The attendant may collaborate with skilled maintenance personnel for repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.


Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates must obtain a special class boilers license within six months of employment. A 2nd Class Boilers License is preferred.

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate will perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including:

  • Vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floors.
  • Emptying waste receptacles and disposing of trash.
  • Dusting and sanitizing surfaces, including furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleaning and maintaining restrooms and high-traffic areas.
  • Changing light bulbs and performing minor repairs.
  • Securing the building at the end of the shift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Applicants should possess:

  • General knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with diverse groups.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. The role involves standing, walking, and performing repetitive motions, as well as working in various environmental conditions.


Special Requirements:
Valid driver's license is required. Experience in a multicultural environment is preferred.
