Under the direction of a Radiologist, this Advanced Physician Assistant will provide competent medical care in accordance with the professional scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Explain procedures to patients as part of their treatment plan
- Gather necessary information from patients
- Communicate with radiology staff about patients and procedures
- Perform radiological procedures within scope of practice
- Monitor patient progress
- Educate patients about after-care and future steps
- Write prescriptions as allowed by scope of practice
- Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Nevada
- ACLS, BCLS, and PALS Certifications
- Knowledge of basic principles of radiation protection and contrast administration side effects
- Maintains clinical competency by attending all required in-service and other continuing education programs
- Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative, and proficiency in skills
- Comply with universal precaution standards
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
- Thorough knowledge and skill in administration, side effects, and complications of mild sedation medication
- Ability to give clear, concise discharge instructions and information to the patient/visitors
- Able to communicate with people of various backgrounds and education levels
- Prioritization skills to manage daily assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely manner while paying attention to details and accuracy
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The Advanced Physician Assistant will be required to maintain accurate and confidential medical records and to report any job-related problems to supervisory personnel.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and without direct supervision, and will be able to demonstrate emotional and physical well-being to safely perform any of the duties and responsibilities as set forth in this job description.
