Job Summary:

The Purchasing Assistant at SUNY Upstate Medical University will be responsible for placing orders, tracking inventory, and supervising a small staff in the Materials Management Warehouse.

Key responsibilities include placing orders, maintaining and replenishing inventory, picking orders, and ensuring par levels and order accuracy for inventory management.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating services and communication with administrative, purchasing, vendors, and customers, as well as operating motorized equipment and motor vehicles with palletized loads when needed.

Additionally, the Purchasing Assistant will reconcile invoices with Accounts Payable and vendors as necessary and track purchase orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 2 years of relevant purchasing, warehouse, or related experience required.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver's license (non-commercial) and be able to lift, push, and pull up to 100lbs.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Materials inventory experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lawson MM software is preferred.

Work Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday, 7:30am-4:00pm, with holidays as needed.
