LPN - Orthopedic and Neurological Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Ochsner Health. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to assigned patients, including IV therapy, within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act.
- Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
- Demonstrate professional responsibilities and be responsible for own practice and assist other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: IV Therapy Credentials.
- Good time management and organizational skills and ability to be self-directed.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment, work with and maintain confidential information, and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Delegation skills.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
