Job Overview

The Commercial Construction Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day activities on specific projects related to renovations or new construction. This role reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for managing all daily onsite construction-related activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional interaction between sub-contractors working on-site.

The Superintendent plays a crucial role in producing quality deliverables, on-time and within budget. This position requires the ability to work across the state of Florida and must be willing to accept work assignments as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with construction services procurement, RFI's, AIA industry-standard documents, and exhibits.
  • Contract Administration – Ability to process contractor pay applications, evaluate and process change orders, analyze and maintain tracking sheets and records, perform inspection walks with city inspectors, inspect and approve work in place, document stored materials, and monitor punch/warranty work.
  • Management, coordination, and inspection of Subcontractor work while the project is in progress, contributing feedback to improve operational success.
  • Maintain project management logs (RFIs, changes, submittals, construction documents, close-out).
  • Familiarity with accepted building practices, materials, and techniques, knowledge of common and general code requirements, ADA requirements, Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components, inspection processes/requirements, and lien waivers.
  • Assist Project Manager with controlling and monitoring project budget & schedule.
  • Ability to assist Project Manager on due diligence walks – assess property conditions, estimate repair and construction costs, and create critical path schedules.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in the construction field: Commercial, and industrial.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Exchange, and Project. Interpersonal skills, Adobe Acrobat, professional demeanor, team player, and good work ethic.
