Job Title: Diesel Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Stearns Companies.

Job Summary

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are safe and compliant with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Repair and replace defective vehicle components
  • Ensure vehicles are safe and compliant with legal requirements
  • Verify work meets or exceeds company quality standards
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements
  • Considerable knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs
  • Concepts involved in internal combustion engines, electrical, electronic and hydraulic systems
  • Handling tools and equipment, implementing safety practices
  • Repair and maintain gas and/or diesel vehicles
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal regulations
  • May be required to operate wrecker/towing equipment and possess Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL)
Working Conditions

The Diesel Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, often outdoors in various weather conditions. The ability to work extended hours and lift up to 75 pounds is required.
