About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Chiller Mechanic to join our team at Johnson Controls. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets, with a strong background in chiller maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and service requests for assigned primary service accounts.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers through effective communication skills.
  • Provide quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact and be responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment and systems at customer locations using cutting-edge software and technology.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
  • Work as part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality service to customers, which may require flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for a 24/7 service company.

Requirements

What We Look For

  • Requires Mechanical Journeyman status.
  • Valid Red Seal Refrigeration and A/C certification.
  • Valid ODS certification.
  • More than 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with hand-held computers.
  • Adherence to company safety program.
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler, and steam operational and service knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
