Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling to join our faculty at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, advising, and mentoring students in our MA and PhD counseling programs, with a focus on clinical mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor students in the MA and PhD counseling programs, with a focus on clinical mental health
  • Contribute to the development and assessment of the clinical mental health program
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities in counselor education
  • Seek external funding for research projects
  • Provide service and leadership in the department, college, and university
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited university
  • Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
  • Experience working with diverse client populations
  • Promising research and teaching abilities
  • Ability to contribute to the CACREP core and clinical mental health counseling specialty
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the university level
  • Expertise in crisis counseling and/or grief and loss counseling
  • Involvement in professional counseling organizations
