Job Overview

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Resource Navigator to join our team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) team, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful integration of asylum seekers in the Los Angeles County area.

As a Community Resource Navigator, you will work closely with IRC staff and community partners to identify and connect asylum seekers with essential resources and services. Your expertise in community development and relationship-building will be instrumental in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy to support the IRC's mission and CMPP clients.
  • Collaborate with IRC colleagues to amplify messaging about our work and humanize the stories of asylum seekers.
  • Research and maintain a resource map of available services and programs for asylum seekers in Los Angeles County.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and civil society groups to provide support to CMPP clients.
  • Ensure CMPP caseworkers remain up-to-date on new programs and changes in eligibility criteria.
  • Engage with the community through outreach, presentations, and events to foster deeper connections between community members, asylum seekers, and IRC staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related professional experience, with prior experience in community development strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with asylum-seeking, refugee, and/or immigrant populations is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
