Product Engineer II

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer II to join our team at Benchmark Electronics. As a Product Engineer II, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing activities of assigned products through prototype, pilot, and production. You will oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders, and actively participate in new customer development and new business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead manufacturing activities of assigned products through prototype, pilot, and production
- Oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders
- Actively participate in new customer development and new business development
- Analyze line return information to understand and drive corrective action on manufacturing process issues
- Perform product level FMEAs as required
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities
- Perform review of engineering design drawings and DFX reports prior to production release for manufacturability
- Participate in evaluating and qualifying new manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
- Lead internal and external corrective action plans
- Comply and follow all company policies and procedures

- Understanding of and ability to use metrics and continuous improvement tools (e.g. DPMO, FPY, DPM, Six Sigma, FMEA, etc.)
Education and Experience:
4 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management. 5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience; Lean Sigma Greenbelt; Familiarity with advanced technologies and applications; Master of advanced technologies and applications. Able to travel up to 10% of the time, including day and overnight as required.
