JOB SUMMARY
Merrill Manufacturing is seeking a meticulous and productive Component Assembly Technician to enhance our workforce. This position entails the assembly of small parts and subassemblies in accordance with precise guidelines and quality benchmarks. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with production objectives, significantly influencing the work environment and contributing to the overall achievements of our organization.
WORK RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Assemble small parts and subassemblies by adhering to detailed work instructions.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment to securely fasten components.
- Examine assembled items for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Label finished products and various incoming materials appropriately.
- Maintain required inventory levels for assembled products.
- Organize and store raw materials in designated locations.
- Keep the workspace clean and orderly.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations diligently.
- Contribute to team objectives and foster a positive work atmosphere.
- Assist with daily inventory tasks including picking, packing, and shipping for e-commerce.
- Communicate effectively with the Small Assembly Lead and Warehouse Supervisor.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting or familiarity with inventory and assembly processes is preferred.
- Forklift operation experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn to operate a computer scanner.
- Detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to maintain concentration while working independently.
- General enthusiasm for innovative problem-solving.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires occasional standing, lifting, and carrying. Frequent activities include sitting, standing from a seated position, handling objects, and using tools or controls. Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending, precise hand movements, keyboard use, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder level are also necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves consistent indoor work, with occasional exposure to noise.
