Assembly Technician

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Summers Mfg. Co. Inc. in Devils Lake, ND. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and erecting various sub-assemblies and complete machines or units of agricultural equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and erect sub-assemblies and complete machines or units of agricultural equipment.
- Conduct visual safety inspections of tools, machines, and equipment before use.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the Assembly Lead or Production Supervisor.
- Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists.
- Position parts and sub-assemblies using templates or reading measurements.
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift operator's license required.
- Knowledge of and experience with various shop tools required.
- Basic mechanical ability required.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, up to six hours per day, required.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and/or reach over head several times during the day, up to four hours each day, required.
- Ability to kneel or crawl several times during the day, up to four hours each day, required.
- Ability to climb and balance several times a day, up to four hours daily, required.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Lift and carry boxes of machine parts weighing up to 50 lbs. in various situations.
- Ability to utilize forklift, hoists, or hand truck required.
- Ability to utilize tools such as hand drill, air wrench, metal grinder, drill press, lathe, punch, shear, saw, etc. required.
- Ability to work around fumes and chemicals, required.
- Ability to work around moving parts, required.
- Ability to work outside, required.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, required.
- Ability to work around loud noises, required.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a team, required.
