Industrial Electrician Specialist

At Quality Plus Services, we are seeking a skilled Industrial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial environment.
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including wiring, circuitry, and equipment. They will work independently or as part of a team to ensure electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently, in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including motors, control panels, transformers, and generators.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure maximum uptime.
- Install and maintain wiring systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Documentation:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Document electrical modifications and installations.
- Collaboration:
- Work with engineers, contractors, and other trades to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced electricians.
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed an accredited apprenticeship program.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial setting.
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs) is highly desirable.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, the NEC, and industrial electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Work is performed in a variety of industrial settings, including factories, warehouses, and production plants.
- May be exposed to high voltage, moving machinery, and hazardous materials.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
