Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Cardiology team at Imperial Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our physicians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients with various cardiology conditions. This includes administering medications, performing ECGs, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiology principles and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients with cardiology conditions, including administering medications and performing ECGs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in the care of patients under the direct supervision of physicians and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Collect patient information and assessment data, including vital signs and medical history.
  • Set up ECG monitors and start IVs for contrast and medication administration.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control when performing clinical duties and tasks.
  • Recognize emergency situations and implement emergency procedures according to clinic guidelines.
Requirements:
  • State Practical Nursing license.
  • Previous cardiology nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • Telemetry experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred but not required.
  • EMR experience preferred.
Work Environment:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in an office setting with frequent telephone calls and other interruptions. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a fast-paced work environment and prioritize multiple projects.

Physical and Mental Demands:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will require standing, sitting, frequent walking, bending, and stooping. May require lifting 25-50 pounds. Exposure to possible hazardous materials/conditions and infectious diseases.
