Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive and courteous service to guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout.
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy by effectively managing room assignments and rates.
  • Answer guest inquiries regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, and other local amenities.
  • Process cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date on all hotel rates, packages, and special promotions.
  • Be aware of closed-out and restricted dates to ensure accurate room assignments.
  • Take room reservations and follow rate-quoting scenarios to ensure optimal revenue management.
  • Utilize hospitality terminology and emergency procedures to provide exceptional service.
  • Operate the front desk computer system with proficiency and accuracy.
  • Complete tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards.
Requirements
  • College coursework in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Computer experience is necessary.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Initiative and a willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas are a must.
