Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our company, interacting with patients and creating a positive experience. This role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draw blood samples from patients with skill, safety, and accuracy
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing, adhering to established procedures
  • Interact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time, under the direction of the area supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Maintain required records and documentation
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Requirements
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric
  • Commitment to all Policies & Procedures, including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
  • Superior Customer Focus, ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients
  • Knowledge of our business
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
