Responsibilities- Assist nursing care team members with the delivery and accomplishment of patient/care services.
- Take and record patient's vital signs.
- Promptly complete personal care of patients.
- Deliver meal trays to patients.
- Assist patients with ambulation.
- Assist with lifting, moving, transporting and discharging patients.
- Promptly respond to patient calls.
- Serve as messenger to obtain/deliver necessary supplies/equipment/specimens.
- Observe and report any significant changes in patient's condition to nursing staff.
- Help maintain clean and orderly patient and work area environments.
- Restock patient and unit supplies.
- Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED).
- Must have successfully completed a hospital-approved formal training program or equivalent.
- Must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform basic arithmetic computations.
- Must have understanding and knowledge of patient care which may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants.
- Must exhibit basic knowledge of setting up and maintaining traction.
- Must be certified and registered with the State of Tennessee, Division of Health Care Facilities, as a Nurse Aide upon initial placement into a CNA position.
Our hospital is a 283-bed facility with 25 ICU beds, 12 intermediate care beds, and 38 emergency suites. We have a team of over 800 employees and 250 active and courtesy physicians.
