Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at Ocean State Job Lot. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our front-end services, including customer service, cash handling, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience and addressing any customer concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash transactions, including processing sales, handling returns, and counting cash.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, including receiving and stocking merchandise, and ensuring that all merchandise is properly displayed and priced.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train sales associates and secondary front-end associates, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting their job responsibilities and providing excellent customer service.
  • Store Operations: Ensure that the front-end services area is clean, organized, and well-maintained, including maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with store management and other team members to ensure that all store operations are running smoothly and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months supervisory and customer service experience required. Experience in a related retail environment preferred.
  • Attributes: Effective communicator, team-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Work Environment

This position requires extended periods of standing, moving, and remaining stationary. The ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis is also required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
