Chief of Police

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Police to lead our Police Department in Albemarle, NC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the law enforcement program, protecting life and property, and implementing a community policing philosophy.

• Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives, including strategic planning and budget administration.
• Establish and communicate standards of performance and a philosophy of law enforcement for the department.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, career development, and training of personnel for the department.
• Establish credibility and trust with the community through various community education and outreach programs.
• Manage the functions of the department, including patrol, investigations, and related activities.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in criminal justice or public administration.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Completion of the minimum requirements established by the North Carolina Justice Training and Standards Council for certified law enforcement officers.
