About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of our hospice care team, working under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide personalized care and support to patients and their families. This role requires a compassionate and empathetic individual who can work with patients in their homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as eating, toileting, and transferring
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the registered nurse
  • Document patient care and services provided
  • Collaborate with the hospice team to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Be a State Registered Nurse Aide through the State Board of Nursing
  • Have one year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred
  • Proof of completion of a recognized CNA training program
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care provided
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired
  • Understanding of the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill
