At Standards-Based Solutions Consulting, we are seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team.

We offer a competitive salary of $15 per hour for this part-time position, which includes benefits and opportunities for growth.

About the Job

The Certified Peer Support Specialist will work closely with clients to provide recovery-based support, self-help strategies, housing resource referrals, social skill-building, and community participation.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as an advocate and role model for recovery and wellness
  • Participating in team meetings and collaborating in the wellness planning process
  • Guiding and encouraging recipients in taking responsibility for and actively participating in their recovery
  • Assisting individuals with self-determination and decision-making
  • Modeling recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal actions to encourage wellness and resilience
  • Teaching and promoting self-advocacy to the individual, and setting goals
  • Providing support to empower individuals in exercising their legal rights within the community
  • Facilitating treatment plans, goals, and objectives at varying therapeutic levels
  • Providing constructive feedback to clients

To be successful in this role, candidates must have previous experience as a CPSS, mentoring, teaching, tutoring, or other related fields. They should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as sufficient knowledge of mental health and substance abuse.

A valid driver's license with a good driving record, current CPR/First Aid Training, and NCI (Preferred) certification are required.
