The Nurse Educator and Primary Instructor will play a crucial role in strengthening the nursing workforce by providing leadership and implementing evidence-based practice. This is a 100% on-site role with a flexible schedule, Monday through Friday, with typical hours between 7AM-3PM or 8AM-4:30PM EST.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee student compliance with NATCEP policies and procedures, and take disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Conduct teaching in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Coordinate hands-on clinical experiences for students and maintain daily attendance records.
- Complete Performance Checklists and Clinical Evaluations for each student.
- Provide ongoing research and resources for updated information, videos, and movies for classes.
- Offer student counseling, coaching, and mentoring.
- Act as a resource for inquirers, candidates, and graduates.
- Hold mock tests to prepare students for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) competency exam.
- Coordinate each class graduation ceremony.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of classrooms and the HVA building.
- Function as a positive role model for HVA, students, and facilities.
- Attend yearly conferences and seminars to benefit instruction.
- Teach new educational programs as planned.
- Participate in staff meetings to review the Nurse Aide Training Program and make recommendations.
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years of experience.
- Long-term care experience with a minimum of one year of direct patient care.
- Valid state registered nursing license.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional time management and planning skills.
- Management experience is a plus.
- Experience training adults.
- NATCEP Teach-the-Educator workshop certification is a plus.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, adult learning needs, and teaching strategies.
