Our extensive network includes over 50 service centers nationwide, offering accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repairs. Supported by a 24/7 in-house call center, we provide both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to fleets at any time and location.

POSITION SUMMARY

To facilitate the company's expansion, Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Mobile Trailer Repair Specialist to join our team. This role is dedicated to on-site service, and we do not offer emergency roadside repairs. If you are searching for a new professional home, we would love to discuss this opportunity with you. The Senior Mobile Trailer Repair Specialist will be tasked with conducting certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance checks, advanced repairs, and various other responsibilities including trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, liftgates, welding, and fabrication. You will be a key resource for advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex repairs, serving as the lead technician on job sites. This role requires compliance with all company policies and the achievement of high-performance metrics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to safe operating practices and procedures at all times.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, performing periodic checks.
  • Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conducting safety inspections.
  • Utilize knowledge gained through training and experience to effectively perform job duties.
  • Engage with clients to assess their needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality in all dealings.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on trailers and equipment in a mobile environment.
  • Respond to service requests dispatched by the call center.
  • Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for repairs.
  • Document work performed and findings according to company standards using provided technology.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work independently and manage your daily schedule effectively.
  • Maintain productivity levels in line with Standard Repair Times.
  • Source parts from approved vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management regarding repair estimates and findings.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in mandatory safety training sessions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various trailer systems.
  • Stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair various trailer systems and components.
  • Utilize sound judgment to identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Assist junior technicians with diagnostics and inventory management.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
  • DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Possession of necessary hand tools for the job.
  • Preferred OEM training and certifications.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Completion of all required training programs.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED OR TO BE OBTAINED WITHIN 18 MONTHS
  • ASE T8 (PMI) certification.
  • ASE 608/609 certification.
  • CDL-A License.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification.
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification.
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems).
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification.
