Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Olympia. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, preserving public safety, and providing exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated areas of the city to maintain public safety and order
  • Respond to emergency calls and conduct investigations
  • Prepare and present reports, including case and shift reports
  • Testify in court as a witness or arresting officer
  • Provide public service presentations to schools, community groups, and the general public
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Valid Washington State driver's license
  • Ability to meet and maintain physical and health standards
  • Ability to possess a firearm in accordance with federal or state regulations
  • Successful completion of polygraph and psychological examinations, and criminal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved law enforcement training academy
  • Experience as a full-time, paid peace officer with a municipal, county, state, or federal law enforcement agency
