FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A High School diploma or equivalent educational background (GED) is required; alternatively, candidates may possess at least one year of relevant experience and/or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining awareness of diversity-related issues, regulations, and best practices.
  • Performing standard custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Sanitizing restrooms on a daily basis.
  • Operating necessary equipment pertinent to custodial duties.
  • Cleaning chalkboards and dry erase boards.
  • Washing windows, blinds, and drapes.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash on a daily basis.
  • Dusting and cleaning furniture at scheduled intervals.
  • Being available for work during unconventional hours when required.
  • Wearing the designated uniform daily, as provided by Hinds Community College.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned by the appropriate authority.
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license.

While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Normal daily tasks necessitate the use of various senses.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds.
