Your Contributions
  • Gather, analyze, and compile chemical and environmental data from diverse samples such as air, soil, and water for research and assessments.
  • Uphold quality control standards to ensure precise measurements and reporting.
  • Create thorough and accurate documentation utilizing electronic systems and field notebooks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and site-specific procedures, including sample collection and laboratory documentation.
  • Assist in drafting technical reports and presentations that communicate research findings aimed at mitigating environmental issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and manage inventory.
  • Support the identification and assessment of chemical and environmental risks, contributing to mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute project objectives.
  • Demonstrate ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, in line with WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Chemist.
  • Proficiency in analytical chemistry, including research techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography.
  • Understanding of hazardous substance reduction and environmental compliance.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and record-keeping practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn new methodologies and adhere to company policies.
  • Moderate proficiency in business writing and office software.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze data and develop cost-effective solutions for waste reduction and resource conservation.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Flexibility to accommodate project-specific schedules, including potential travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree is advantageous.
  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) is preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR training is a plus.

Compensation
Expected Salary Range: $62,800 - $107,800
