Key Responsibilities- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials situations, to protect life and property.
- Firefighting: Participate in firefighting operations, including laying and connecting hoses, directing water streams, and using forcible entry tools.
- Medical Response: Administer emergency medical care, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and assisting paramedics with Advanced Life Support (ALS).
- Fire Prevention: Participate in fire prevention programs and inspections to enforce fire prevention codes and ordinances.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain fire station, grounds, and equipment to ensure readiness for emergency response.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certifications: EMT-I, California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Academy or Certificate, AHA CPR Healthcare Provider, and other relevant certifications.
- Experience: One year of experience as a firefighter (career, volunteer, or PCF) preferred.
Work 48-hour shifts and overtime as needed. May be recalled or held on duty according to the response needs of the Fire Department.
