We are seeking a skilled Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient intake activities and resources, evaluating the severity of illness, and reviewing physician orders for clinical appropriateness.
Responsibilities- Coordinate patient intake activities and resources to ensure seamless care delivery
- Evaluate the severity of illness for all elective, direct, and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care
- Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness and completeness
- Coordinate education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process
- Conduct complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity
- BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date required
- Registered Nurse licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required
- Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire
