Dental Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our team at Paxton Family Dental. As a key member of our front office staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients to our dental practice, providing a positive first impression.
  • Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments as needed, ensuring seamless communication with our dental staff.
  • Assist patients in filling out necessary information forms, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Prepare patient charts and daily schedules for our dental staff, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Update patient records and document recent treatments and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and provide telephonic reminders to patients, ensuring timely follow-up care.
  • Communicate with medical insurance providers to verify co-payment requirements, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Verify methods of payment and collect payments as needed, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing, ensuring a well-organized and efficient front office.
  • Organize and maintain patient waiting areas and front-desk areas, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for our patients.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working in a dental office, with a strong understanding of dental terminology and practice management software.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills, with a strong ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
