Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is a premier 186-bed skilled nursing facility that fosters a supportive family-like atmosphere.
The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct thorough wound evaluations and develop a comprehensive care plan that includes objectives, treatment implementation, assessment, and outcomes for residents throughout the facility.
Additionally, this position will educate residents, families, and staff on wound management, prevention of pressure injuries, fistulas, ostomies, support surfaces, dressing choices, and other therapeutic interventions.
Moreover, the role involves providing general direct nursing care to residents and overseeing the daily nursing activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing staff.
Supervision must align with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, as well as directives from the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Supervisor to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently delivered.
Qualifications for the Clinical Wound Care Nurse (RN):
Must hold, at a minimum, an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, or have graduated from an approved RN program.
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active nursing license to practice as an RN.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical, surgical, or rehabilitation nursing environment is required.
Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) is mandatory.
Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screening.
