Job Title: School Psychologist Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented School Psychologist Assistant to join our team at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio.

Job Summary:

The School Psychologist Assistant will provide support to a certificated school psychologist in planning and carrying out programs and services to enable children to attain maximum achievement. The successful candidate will assist with evaluation, interviewing, and clerical services, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to federal, state, and local policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clerical tasks, including filing, copying, scheduling meetings, and gathering student information/data.
  • Collaborate with the school psychologist, special education coordinator, and building principal on a regular basis.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality as required by federal, state, and local policy.
  • Assess PreK-12 student academic performance/progress via standardized achievement tests, curriculum-based measurement, and interviews.
  • Intervene with students through planning and training with the school psychologist or intervention specialist.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with additional clerical training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office equipment and machines.
  • Ability to provide appropriate references, obtain an assistant permit, pass criminal background check for State of Ohio (and FBI if necessary), and/or other requirements of the Westerville City Schools and Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
Working Conditions/Requirements:
  • Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and/or willingness to utilize technology (e.g. computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, graphing, etc.).
