Residential Care Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Alternative Services – Connecticut, Inc. This role involves providing daily support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being in a home-like environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Residential Instructor will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a safe and healthy living environment for consumers, adhering to all Agency policies and procedures.
- Providing activities and programs that cater to the needs and interests of consumers, promoting socialization and skill development.
- Documenting consumer progress, incidents, and medication administration accurately and timely.
- Assisting with daily tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, and cleaning.
- Participating in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on Agency policies and best practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
- A valid driver's license and ability to drive Agency vehicles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
- The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene when necessary.
Accountability
The Residential Instructor will report directly to the Residential Manager and is accountable for maintaining high standards of care and customer satisfaction.
