We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Design Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. as an Aircraft Interface Expert.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled individual to work on the forefront of designing safe and user-centered interfaces for aircraft. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide technical leadership in human factors design, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety, usability, and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Define and evaluate human factors aspects of aircraft interface design, including user anthropometrics, system and equipment placement, ingress and egress, reach, visibility, user strength, comfort, workload, human error, and maintenance accessibility.
  • Develop requirements related to human factors aspects, supporting the creation of compliance documents, test plans, and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and testing, to ensure seamless integration of human factors principles into product development.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on human factors best practices, contributing to the development of internal guidelines and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in human factors or a related field, or a combination of a degree in engineering and experience in human factors.
  • Experience in human factors related to civil aircraft, with strong applicants encouraged to apply who have experience in military aircraft or automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of human factors design definition, analysis, evaluation, and certification, as well as experience with software tools such as InVision, Illustrator, CATIA Human Builder, and SPSS.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
