Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Shift

Post Holdings is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at 8th Avenue Food & Provisions in New Hope, Minnesota.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work throughout our facility during their shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, equipment, and components, as well as rebuilding and installing new equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems and complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs
  • Work with operations to learn operating systems and provide training on mechanical components
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Two-year associate degree or higher in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.)
  • Completed apprenticeship in mechanic, mechanical maintenance, or electro-mechanical, electrical, or related field
  • 2+ years hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics
  • Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
  • Previous experience with power transmission components; belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
  • Previous experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to sit, climb and work off ladder, and operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in a dusty and cold environment for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in high heat and humidity for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, walk, and reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift
