Job Overview

Position Title: Materials Planning Manager

Location: Fremont, CA

Contract Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)

Compensation: $35/hr. to $43/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate support for engineering divisions by delivering essential materials and logistics assistance.
  • Oversee the processing of procurement requests for newly designed components.
  • Coordinate shipments for new products by managing engineering materials to designated shipping sites.
  • Administer reservations for materials stored in inventory.
  • Foster and sustain strong relationships with Program/Product Management, Engineering, Production Control, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Act as the primary contact for Engineering; offer material evaluations and insights on best practices.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as required by the Product Group.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams and communicate any delivery challenges related to production schedules.
  • Participate in daily shortage meetings and provide updates on program modifications.
  • Address BOM requirements for newly designed components.
  • Manage the transfer of materials from engineering to unrestricted inventory.
  • Oversee aging inventory in engineering locations and secure commitments from product/program teams for disposition.
  • Assist in the transition of new products from pilot phases to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Ensure all purchased components meet release criteria for ordering and shipping to external clients.
  • Conduct PS MRP reviews and handoffs.
  • Process material purges as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in project management.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex product BOMs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP transactions.
  • Capable of advising and coordinating across functions to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and SAP. A Bachelor's Degree and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a New Product environment is essential.
