Interventional Radiology Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in our Interventional Radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of safety and quality in our procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients before procedures and monitor them throughout, ensuring accurate administration of medications and intravenous fluids.
- Establish intravenous access and deliver contrast or other IV medications as ordered by radiologists.
- Perform physical, psychological, and cognitive status assessments of patients and provide preprocedure instructions and review lab results.
- Initiate care and discharge plans for patients after invasive procedures and provide follow-up phone calls and review lab and pathology results as needed.
- Identify and correct problems, reporting critical occurrences to the next level of authority and maintaining emergency equipment and Point of Care testing.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required.
- New York State RN License required.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification required.
- 1 year prior monitoring experience in Interventional Radiology or 2 years of ER, ICU, OR, Cath Lab, Telemetry or Recovery Room experience required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deescalate stressful situations.
- Ability to make sound judgments and execute appropriate actions based on patient needs and facility policies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- PALS certification.
